The urban landscape of Paris is characterised by its high density of buildings and lack of greenery, which brings heat stress during the summer months. But an exhilarating green revolution is already underway. Roundabouts are turning into urban forests, the Périphérique is becoming a parkway, and traffic is disappearing in favour of pedestrians on hundreds of streets.
